Today is International Yarnbombing Day. What is Yarnbombing you ask? I guess you could best describe it as graffiti, or street art, but with yarn instead of paint.
I loved this idea from the first moment I heard about it. It’s just the right amount of fun and subversive for me, so of course, I had to participate. This morning I woke up early, and while the sun was climbing over the horizon, I walked to the park and left a little something for the kidlets. Unfortunatley, in my excitement, I sewed my piece on upside down. The ladybug should be facing upwards. It was on there tight though, and I had to get to my daughter’s ball game, so I just decided to leave it. I don’t think anyone will notice, and I think the wee ones will still enjoy finding it under the slide. Maybe later tonight I will sneak back to the scene of the crime and turn it around.
This was my first time yarnbombing. It will definitely not be my last time. If you are interested, you can learn more at yarnbombing.com.
Today is also World Wide Knit in Public Day. So be sure to spread some yarn love today!
